LimbPower Statement on the Future of Prosthetic Services
We acknowledge the Prime Minister’s announcement regarding the abolition of NHS England and understand that this may raise concerns within the limb loss and limb difference community about the future of prosthetic services.
LimbPower is committed to advocating on behalf of our beneficiaries to ensure the continuity of vital prosthetic services. We will actively engage with the relevant government departments and stakeholders to safeguard the needs of those who rely on these services.
Our priority remains ensuring that individuals with limb loss and limb difference continue to receive the high-quality care, support, and prosthetic provisions they deserve. We will keep our community informed as further details emerge and work tirelessly to ensure that any changes do not negatively impact access to essential services.

LimbPower support amputees, individuals with limb difference and their families to bridge the gap between hospital rehabilitation and community and school engagement to rebuild lives and improve physical, social and mental well-being.
This includes advocacy (talk to us), in-person and online events and workshops (go to the events tab) video resources (visit our YouTube Channel) and paper resources (visit the resources section of this website) we also have programmes in and around the Limb Centres including the Physical Activity Advisers and Nordic Walking Instructors.

Limb Power was launched in November 2009 to engage amputees and individuals with limb impairments in physical activity, sport and the arts to improve quality of life and to aid lifelong rehabilitation. In July 2014 LimbPower became a National Disability Sports Organisation, sitting alongside WheelPower, Cerebral Palsy Sport (CP Sport), Dwarf Sport, British Blind Sport (BBS), UK Deaf Sport, Mencap Sport and Special Olympics Great Britain (SOGB). Through this association and our work with the English Federation of Disability Sport and Sport England LimbPower help amputees and people with limb impairment reach their sporting potential. LimbPower also run arts based activities including confidence workshops and a photography club.
